Stitch House turns 1!

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

The only thing I really want you to do is join us THIS Sunday as Stitch House celebrates its 1st birthday party! I promise you will have fun. There will be giveaways, door prizes, food and fun! We have a ton of new yarns for you to check out including Cascade Superwash 220, Nashua Geologie, Rowan Pure Wool Aran, Noro Maiko, Jade Sapphire Lacy Lamb, Classic Elite Bazic & Silk Lace, and a ton of new colors in Debbie Bliss, Rowan, Blue Sky, Nashua, Louet, Tofutsies. We also have in new books and patterns from Figheadh, Rowan, Noro, Bliss … the list goes on. We also upped our offering of Amy Butler fabrics and patterns. They are certainly worth checking out!

And FRIDAY, if you are so excited about Sunday and need to come in sooner is the Unfinished Projects night. Here’s the summary of this class:

3rd Friday - Unfinished Projects
: What knitter hasn’t been so excited by a new yarn purchase that a perfectly lovely work-in-progress got pushed aside? We want to encourage you to dig deep and find those old projects that with just a few hours of attention can be worn or gifted. Nothing feels quite like finishing a handmade item, well, except maybe a silk and angora blend… The point is to stay on track and help each other out. Special prize for the oldest project!

Thanks to all that participated in our first round of Club events. Because of popular demand we will be adding more as we go through the Fall. Please let us know what you would like - we want to do it!

Great Day to All!

I am so thrilled to share that the Columbia/Savin Hill Civic Association has awarded Stitch House with the storefront “Curb Appeal” award. Thank you to Paul Nutting (a good neighborhood friend) for all the work he has done to decorate our storefront with beautiful flowers. The summer display is done and now we have a lovely fall arrangement.

So, after a week-long effort the shop has been re-organized by yarn weights. It looks fabulous! A very special thank you to Eliza who worked her tail off getting it done for our first Friday night Sweater Club. It was so much fun having all of you with us Friday night and maybe a few more will join us in October. This week is Quick Sew project night. Come Friday from 6-8 and for a $10 fee you can make a simple, reversible, makeup/stash bag. All materials will be included but please let us know if you are coming so I can get enough munchies and materials together. Sunday 12-2 is our first Sock Club meeting - join Katie and start working on a pair of cool & cozy toe covers (socks).

And lastly - Sunday, September 21 is our First Anniversary Party. Join the party 11 am - 2 pm. A formal invite is attached. I hope you will join in the fun - if you’ve never been to Stitch House - this is the time to come! We will have great door prizes and free giveaways, food, drink & great discounts.

I hope to see you soon - please call or email us with any comments, questions or suggestions,

Annissa
