Mason-Dixon, Amy Butler and more!

First of all - thank you to all of you who attended our Twist Fashion Show January 10th. I enjoyed the afternoon, and hope all of you did too. Check out our pictures and the video in the previous posts. If you weren’t able to join us visit the www.TwistCollective.com website to see all the very beautiful patterns they sell. You can download an inspiring pattern 24 hours a day.
This week we doubled our Amy Butler collection of fabrics! They are hard to get but we have them including my favorite classics and many from the new collection Daisy Chain. We also sell Amy Butler patterns and have a Butler Bag class starting in March.
Speaking of classes - our February kids Knit & Craft Camp is open for reservations. We welcome kids ages 8-12 to attend Tuesday-Friday of school vacation week. A few to highlight:

Alterations - Do you have a closet full of “off the rack” clothes that need to be hemmed or a pair of favorite pants that need a zipper replaced? Bring your jeans, jackets, dresses and skirts and learn to do your own alterations. You will also learn to do perfect hand and machine stitches on your delicate fabrics. Some sewing experience is necessary. This one-day workshop is offered 3 times: Thursday, January 29 11-2pm, Saturday, February 7 from 1-4pm and Saturday, March 7 from 1-4pm ($25)

Slipcovers are EASY! If you can make a purse, you can make a slip cover.  Don’t let the size intimidate you!  Covering a chair is very simple and satisfying, and will help you learn the techniques needed to tackle the sofa next! Students will be provided beforehand with a template for measuring an armless chair. Students will need to bring those measurements to the first class along with their fabric and coordinating thread.  Patterns will be cut during the first class. Starting Wednesday, February 4th from 6-8pm for 4 weeks. ($100)

Knitting 101/ Intro to Knitting - If you have no knitting experience, or have tried a few times but quit because that scarf was just taking too darn long and you got bored, then this is the class for you! This class will teach you the basics, and together we will create something small, manageable and fabulous. Not only will you leave with a finished project, but you’ll have the motivation and the tools to keep knitting! Offered Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 pm starting February 3 and 5 (2 series) OR Saturdays 11am-1pm (ongoing start). Classes are $75 for 4 weeks.

Advanced Knitting: Cabled Bag - The cabled bags on display at Stitch House have been the subject of much discussion, and now you can learn to make your very own! Some knitting experience is required, but novice cablers are welcome. Meets 2 Sundays February 15 & March 1 from 1-3pm for 2 weeks ($60, includes materials)

Katie (our weekender) emailed me this great video and link and you have to see it. I ordered the books Mason-Dixon Knitting and Mason-Dixon Knitting Outside the Lines. Both are fabulous additions to any knitters library. I have ordered 12 of each book and will accept reservations. For those of you who reserve your copy with me NOW I will offer you a 20% discount on this item (regular retail is $29.95). I offer this because I think these books are awesome. So the first ones to reserve their copies will get a great deal.
