Description: This 2 week class will provide a quick introduction to sewing and sewing techniques. Each participant will sew one or two decorative pillows. The first class will introduce the participants to the shop machines.
Instructor: Annissa Essaibi George is the owner of Stitch House. She has been sewing since she was 6 years old – her first project was a Barbie skirt! Prior to opening Stitch House, Annissa had a small side business making formal girls’ wear and Christening gowns. Annissa made her own prom gown, wedding dress and all her bridesmaid dresses.

Specifics: This class runs 2 Wednesday evenings (June 11 and June 18) from 7-9 pm and costs $30 not including materials. This class requires the participant to purchase materials necessary to complete the project prior to the first class. Below is the list (other supplies will be provided during the class):

  • Enough fabric to make each of your pillows (most are between 16” and 24” square)
  • Any decorative trim you would like to accent your pillow
  • Poly-fil or inserts for each pillow
  • 1 Spool of matching thread
  • 1 pair of scissors for cutting fabric (these should be used for fabric only; paper cutting dulls scissors
  • Recommended Book (available at Stitch House) "The Complete Step-by-Step Guide to Home Sewing"

All Classes: If you are registered for a sewing class you will be given a certificate good for a one-time 10% discount at Sew-Fisticated Fabrics located at 735 Morrissey Blvd. near Lambert’s Fruit Market. Fabric and patterns can also be purchased at Wal-Mart, Joann Fabrics and Fabric Place.
Maximum class size is 6. Any class may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Refunds will only be made in this circumstance. Any class cancellations will be made at least 1 week before the start of the class. If an individual class session needs to be cancelled, each participant will be notified immediately. In a single session cancellation, the class will be held the week after the last scheduled class.
